Oil and Gas
Flying Fox Facilities offer a number of UAV solutions to the oil and gas sector ranging from rig inspections using our multi rotor UAV’s to long range remote area pipeline monitoring using our fixed wing UAV’s.
Aerial surveys
Land, Farms, Estates, Commercial buildings, industrial facilities, Ports, Borders and Entry points.
An aerial survey of a building, plot of land, farm or large item of machinery in conjunction with an engineer or industry specialist can be used to assess structural integrity, make heath and safety assessments and generate a project plan prior to a work force, materials or spare parts arriving onsite. Saving time and money.
All flight operations are conducted in accordance with UK CAA legislation, our flight crews hold a current CAA PFAW and are fully insured. Our UAV’s can shoot still images and video simultaneously.
If required a live video feed can be streamed from the ground station onsite using our Satellite uplinks or IP uplinks to a third party.
Site surveys
Our UAV’s can be used to compliment traditional site survey techniques or as a stand-alone service. Our aerial images offer a unique perspective. Topographical information, boundaries, proposed roads or utility services and alike can be overlaid on an image. Low altitude aerial imagery from a UAV can assist with clarification and offer an overall plan view and different perspective as opposed to using a traditional fixed wing light aircraft. Our still images and video can be integrated into proposals and 3D imaging software.

Our UAV’s can assist emergency services to efficiently gather information and incident intelligence remotely assisting command and control elements make decisions, monitor operations and avoid exposing personnel to unknown risks. All of our UAVs have real time video downlink capabilities that can be fed from the ground station to an incident control facility.
Low altitude imagery can also be used to assist with crime scene investigation. Our UAVs can be quickly deployed and are able to gather still and video images.

Our UAV teams are drawn from the military, emergency services and broadcast media. They are accustomed to working in challenging and hostile environments. Flying Fox Facilities have worked in conflict zones and disaster areas across the globe for nearly 20 years.
Thermal imaging cameras and IR cameras combined with our downlink facilities can offer real time information to aid agencies and rescue workers. Our UAV systems, cameras and uplink facilities can assist crisis management teams formulate effective plans, monitor situations as they develop and maintain communications with the outside world during a disaster. We can also provide and coordinate live video feeds for the media if required. We are familiar with navigating political terrain, adapting to cultural sensitivities, liaising with NGO’s, government agencies, and large corporation’s. In addition to operating in accordance with various nations aviation regulations, managing operational budgets and coordinating logistical support.
Flying Fox understands the social stigma that has previously surrounded UAV’s. For projects involving IDP’s, the vulnerable and post disaster areas we try to only operate small, low profile and non obtrusive UAV’s. Please contact us to discus our procedures and protocols.

Please contact us to discuss strategic applications of our VTOL Multi rotor and fixed wing UAV’s for risk management companies and government organisations. Our flight crews and satellite communications engineers are all accustomed to working in complex and hostile environments.

In cooperation with our partners Flying Fox operates a number of 7m -12 MCA coded RIB’s. Allowing us to launch our UAV’s at sea or from inland water ways. Our RIB’s have an operational range of up to 150 miles.

Our satellite engineers have over 30 years experience in the communications industry, both civilian and military. We can provide voice and data communication solutions across the Middle East, Africa and Europe using vehicle-mounted uplinks, and flyaways. In conjunction with our partners we can offer BGAN and VSAT portable broadband solutions including hardware and airtime packages.

We recognise the importance of local knowledge and have maintained long standing working partnerships in remote locations across the Middle East and Africa.
Over the past two decades we have built up a network of local fixers, translators, and support staff in addition to our long standing partnerships with risk management consultants in the UK, we are in a unique position to offer consultancy services, logistical support, aviation charter, medical evacuation assistance, satellite communications, GPS and GSM tracking services across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
In some scenarios a UAV may not offer the right solution to gather aerial images. We utilise a range of telescopic camera systems that can extend up to 40m allowing remote stabilised camera operations with an internal power supply that can be left in position for extended periods of time.
We offer various mast camera systems both overt and covert for different applications such as:
-Crowd observation
-Perimeter security
-Mobile border surveillance
-POE surveillance
-Incident response
-Image gathering for TV broadcast in congested or built up areas where it would be unsafe to operate a UAV legally or complex permissions are unable to be obtained at short notice. All of our cameras are broadcast quality.
